About Sponsored Roaming

Our Sponsored Roaming solution uses advanced dual IMSI technology to ensure your customers stay seamlessly connected while travelling internationally. Vodafone can act as your Sponsoring Network, helping you expand your international roaming coverage or even build it from scratch.

What is dual IMSI Technology?

IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) is a unique 15-digit number that identifies each mobile subscriber within a network. It plays a crucial role in how mobile networks recognise and authenticate subscribers. Unlike the ICCID (Integrated Circuit Card Identification), which identifies the SIM card itself, the IMSI identifies the subscriber across different networks. This can be applicable both to physical SIMs and eSIMs.

With dual IMSI technology, your SIM card can automatically switch between your home network’s IMSI (for regions where you have roaming agreements) and Vodafone’s IMSI (for areas where you don’t yet have coverage). This ensures your customers stay connected without interruption, while they are travelling internationally.
